For parents choosing a mattress for their child is often make confusion. Although this is not the most noticeable part of baby’s bedroom, mattress is certainly one of the most important for every child. We spend a lot of hour of our lives in the bed. So, having a comfortable and safety mattress for our child is big essential decision.

Mattress Size

Consider the size of mattress is the first step for choosing mattress. Mattresses come in many sizes including crib size, extra-long twin, full and larger sizes. Crib mattresses can be used for cribs or toddler beds and the age of the child and the height of the child when choosing a mattress size.

Mattress and Box Spring

Always provide a more supportive and comfortable mattress for your baby by using a matching mattress with box spring. Mismatched mattress and box spring will give the bad quality effect for baby receives.

Mattress Materials

Mattress materials are other parent’s consider to makes their baby or child has a good sleep. Polyvinyl chloride is one of mattresses are made. And natural mattress material is healthier material, such as organic cotton or organic wool. Children are especially sensitive to toxic chemicals and all effort should be made to limit their exposure.

Buying a Used or New Mattress

Making good decision in choosing used mattresses or new mattresses. In most cases, a new mattress is a better choice for parent. But if you know the previous owner well and are comfortable sharing his mattress, it’s no matter to use secondhand mattress.

Coil Count

Coil count is the number of coils that are inside the mattress. Children do not weigh much, so coil count will not make a huge difference unless the child will be dramatically heavier within 10 years. A lightweight child does not need the support that some of the more expensive mattresses provide. A basic, mid-grade mattress that is well constructed will work well for a young child.
